ISO: International Organization for Standardization
DISC has integrated ISO manufacturing standards into our Quality Management System ever since we were first certified for ISO 9001 in 2004.
ISO is the world’s largest developer and publisher of international standards. It is a network of national standards institutes in more than 162 countries, one member to a country, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland that coordinates the system. The ISO portfolio consists of over 18,400 international standards for quality, safety, reliability, efficiency, and environmental factors. These standards may be applied to specific products, materials or processes, or to general management principles for any organization.
Our current certification for ISO 9001:2008 defines a requirement for management responsibility, resource management, product utilization and measurement (from defining customer requirements to monitoring customer satisfaction), analysis and improvement processes.
