DISC RECEIVES GMI PRIME CERTIFICATION

HAUPPAUGE, NEW YORK [January 3, 2018] – DISC, a leading source of specialty packaging solutions for nearly 50 years, received GMI Prime certification from Graphic Measures International, a leader in monitoring and measuring the performance of packaging suppliers. Many brand owners and retailers such as Target, Home Depot, CVS, and Walgreens have made GMI certification a requirement for their packaging suppliers. To achieve this certification, DISC had to meet GMI’s rigorous evaluation of five key components: process control and documentation, equipment maintenance, training procedures, operator capability and equipment performance. According to Margaret Krumholz, president of DISC, “the GMI Prime Certification extends our reach in the brand packaging market past our previous GMI Walgreens certification and demonstrates our commitment to manufacturing cartons and labels at the highest quality standards. This complements our other quality certifications including ISO 9001, G7® Master, and the Pantone® Certified Printer designations.” DISC is GMI certified in offset lithography and flexographic print processes, which cover the production of both folding cartons and pressure sensitive labels using conventional and extended gamut process printing.
